Overview of the Scheme

Implemented by the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Worker’s Welfare Board (GBOCWWB), this scheme is part of the Labour, Skill Development & Employment Department of Gujarat. The primary objective is to provide financial assistance to registered construction workers who have suffered disabilities, enabling them to generate income and support their families through the use of e-rickshaws.

Objectives

The main goal of the Go-Green Three Wheelers Scheme is to assist construction workers who lose their ability to work due to accidents on-site. The provision of e-rickshaws serves as a means for these individuals to secure alternate employment and sustain their families financially.

Benefits of the Scheme

• A one-time financial subsidy covering 50% of the ex-showroom price of the e-rickshaw, capped at ₹48,000.
• Reimbursement for the registration fee and road tax paid for the first time upon purchasing the new three-wheeler.

Note:

• The motor vehicle tax amount for the new e-rickshaw, as determined by the State Government, will be the responsibility of the registered disabled construction worker.
• This subsidy is in addition to any available incentives under government electric vehicle schemes.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be registered with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Worker’s Welfare Board.
• Only registered construction workers who have become disabled due to a workplace accident are eligible for this scheme.
• The applicant must possess a lithium-ion battery-operated vehicle registered in their name.
• A valid tri-cycle license to operate the vehicle is required.
• The benefits can be availed of only once by each registered construction disabled worker.

Application Process

Offline Application

To apply for benefits under the Go-Green Three Wheelers Scheme, follow these steps:

1. Visit the nearest district office of the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Worker’s Welfare Board.
2. Obtain the application form and complete all necessary details.
3. Attach all required documentation and submit the completed application form to the designated official at the district office.

Post-Application Steps

1. The District Nirikshak will review and approve the application form.
2. It will then be forwarded to the State Project Manager at the head office.
3. The application requires approval from the Head Office Government Labour Officer and subsequently from the Member Secretary.
4. Upon verification of the online application submitted by the dealer, the Accounts Officer and Hon’ble Member Secretary will process the reimbursement.
