Pre-Matric Scholarship (प्रे-मैट्रिक छात्रवृत्ति)

The Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme aims to support students from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) in Uttar Pradesh by providing essential financial assistance during their pre-matriculation education. This initiative is crucial for enabling OBC students to complete their studies and improve their socio-economic status.

Overview of the Scheme

Education serves as a vital tool for elevating the standing of backward classes in society. Despite numerous efforts since India’s independence to enhance educational opportunities for Other Backward Classes, significant advancements in their educational status remain elusive. The government has launched various initiatives, including the Fee Reimbursement scheme, which operates in an online format through the Department of Backward Classes Welfare. This scheme focuses on the development and educational upliftment of backward classes. It ensures that OBC students enrolled in all government, aided, and recognized educational institutions receive scholarships annually. The Department of Backward Classes Welfare remains dedicated to advancing the educational prospects of these communities.
