Pension Plan (MBOCWWB) Overview

The Pension Plan, implemented by the Meghalaya Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB) under the Labour Department of the Government of Meghalaya, aims to provide financial security to building workers. This initiative ensures that eligible workers receive a monthly pension upon reaching the age of sixty, thus supporting them in their retirement years.

Scheme Details

The Pension Plan is designed as a social security measure for individuals who have devoted at least one year to building and construction work. Upon turning sixty, registered members of the fund are entitled to receive a monthly pension, which is disbursed starting from the month following their birthday.

Monthly Pension Benefits

Participants who have maintained their employment as building workers for a minimum period of one year are eligible to receive a pension of ₹1,000 per month, thereby enhancing their financial independence during retirement.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must be a resident of Meghalaya.
  • The individual should be actively engaged in building construction work.
  • Registration with the Meghalaya Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is mandatory.
  • The worker must have at least one year of work experience as a building worker.
  • Pension benefits can be availed upon reaching the age of 60 years.

Application Procedure

Online Application Process

To apply for the Pension Plan online, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm
  2. On the homepage, click on the ‘Worker’ button to create a new account by entering all necessary information.
  3. After completing the details, click on ‘Register’.
  4. Upon successful registration, a confirmation message stating “Registered Successfully” will be displayed.

New Registration Under MBOCWWB

  1. Access the online portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm
  2. Log in using your User ID (Registered Mobile Number), Password, and Security Code.
  3. After logging in, select ‘Apply for New Registration’ from the menu.
  4. Complete the Registration Form with Personal, Service/Work, Bank, and Demographic Details.
  5. Click ‘Submit’ to finalize the registration.
  6. Add Family & Nominee Details after successful registration.
  7. Upload necessary documents, including a Photograph, ID Proof, Employer Certificate/Self Certification, and Bank Passbook.
  8. Finalize the process by clicking the ‘Complete’ button.
  9. Your application will be processed and verified by relevant authorities, leading to the issuance of a Registration Certificate.

Welfare Pension Application Process

  1. Visit the online portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm
  2. Log in using your User ID, Password, and Security Code.
  3. Select the “Welfare Pension” scheme from the Dashboard after successful login.
  4. Fill in the required information and upload necessary documents.
  5. Click ‘Submit’ to apply for pension benefits.

Tracking and Updating Applications

  1. Visit the online portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm
  2. Log in with your User ID, Password, and Security Code.
  3. Select ‘Track Application Status’ from the menu.
  4. Click ‘View Details’ to check your application status.
  5. Access ‘Application History’ to view past applications.
  6. If needed, click ‘Update’ to modify your application (note: this option is unavailable once the application is in process).

Offline Application Process

Those who prefer to apply offline can follow these steps:

New Registration
  1. Submit a completed application form along with required documents to the local Registering Officer.
  2. After reviewing the details, the Registering Officer will register the worker and issue an identity card with the worker’s photograph.
Applying for Scheme Benefits
  1. A signed copy of the application form must be submitted to the respective employer.
  2. The employer will countersign and forward the application to the Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board for consideration.

Benefits

Under the scheme, the registered worker who has been working as a building worker for not less than one year shall receive an amount of ₹1,000/- per mensem as pension.

Apply Online
Online Worker Registration Process (Portal):
Step 01: The applicants may visit the online Portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm

Step 02: The applicant can register by creating a new account, on the home page click on the ‘Worker’ button and enter all the mandatory information.
Step 03: After filling in all the details, click on ‘Register’.
Step 04: After successful registration, the applicant will see the message “Registered Successfully”.
Application Process for New Registration under the MBOCWWB:
Step 01: Visit the online Portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm

Step 02: Enter your User ID (Registered Mobile Number), Password, and Enter Security Code. Click on Login.
Step 03: After successful login, click on ‘Apply for New Registration’ from the menu.
Step 04: Fill in all the required details in the Registration Form i.e. Personal Details, Service/Work Details, Bank Details, and Demographic Details, etc.
Step 05: Click on 'Submit'.
Step 06: After successful registration, you will be directed to another page to manage all the Family & Nominee Details. Click on ‘Add New’ to add Family members and Nominee Details.
Step 07: After adding all the Family & Nominee Details, click on Proceed.
Step 08: Now upload all the required enclosures i.e. Photograph, ID Proof, Employer Certificate/Self Certification, Bank Passbook of the Worker.
Step 09: Click on the ‘Complete’ Button to complete the registration process.
Step 10: Once your application has been processed and verified by Block/District LDA, Block/District Labour Inspector, and approved District Labour Commissioner (DLC), Registration Certificate will be generated.

Step 01: Visit the online Portal: https://megbocwwb.gov.in/bocw_services/login.htm

Step 02: Enter your User ID (Registered Mobile Number), Password, and Enter Security Code. Click on Login.
Step 03: After successful login, click on the “Welfare Pension” scheme from the Dashboard.
Step 04: Fill in all the required information and necessary enclosures.
Step 05: Click ‘Submit’ to apply for benefits.

Step 02: Enter your User ID (Registered Mobile Number), Password, and Enter Security Code. Click on Login.
Step 03: From the menu, click on ‘Track Application Status’.
Step 04: Click on ‘View Details’ to view your application.
Step 05: Click on ‘Application History’ to view the application history.

Note: Once your application is under process or processed, you cannot update it.

Apply Offline
Process for New Registration:
Step 01: The complete application form
along with the required documents is required to be submitted before the Registering Officer of the area.
Step 02: The Registering Officer, after satisfying himself/herself with all the details, may register the worker as a beneficiary under the Act and issue an identity card affixing the photograph of the worker.
Process to apply for Scheme Benefits:
Step 01: A copy of the prescribed application form
duly signed by the applicant shall be submitted to the concerned employer.
Step 02: The employer is required to countersign the complete application and submit it to the Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board for consideration.
